EV Pickup Trucks Indicate Move to Mainstream

Silverado EV Electric Vehicle Pickup Truck

Pickup Wars are Hot. EV Pickup Wars are Hotter.

You know that the EV wars are not only serious but heating up when both Ford and GM are gearing up production for serious full-size EV pickups. They aren't concepts nor are they just for compliance. These are serious, practical, and fully capable full-size pickups for commercial and mainstream customers.

For decades, full-size pickups have remained the bread and butter for GM and Ford, even when challenged by brands like Toyota, Honda, and Nissan. With the EV versions of their full-size pickups, GM and Ford are both making a statement for their entire EV initiatives by electrifying what they do best. It's a signal that they're serious about EV's and a demonstration of their engineering capability.

In contrast to Ford's F-150 Lightning, the Silverado EV is on a dedicated EV platform - designed as an EV from the ground up and to be a fully capable pickup. It's a hint that GM is serious about EV's and there's much more coming soon!
